I was just wondering for all of those people who baught the SRT HFI/ECU II in the group buy did you guys get yours yet or not and when were they shipped out?
Hey Biggie,
The intakes shipped out on Tue the 8th. Call Mo to get your UPS tracking number and keep tabs on it yourself. Generally, it takes 5-6 days (not counting weekends) for UPS ground packages from the East coast to the Seattle area.
Originally posted by nanotech To all the people who installed the SRT HFI/ECU, please tell me about the pluses/minuses. And the additional noise it creates.
Thanks
The pluses are you gain horsepower and you acceleration will feel crisper The minus is its kind of expensive. Any intake you put on your car with a open cone filter is going to be loud at WOT. But it is a good loud. If you accelerate normally it isnt that loud but when you get on it your car feel like it comes alive!
nanotech if the sound is the same as my intake (RMM) then you dont really hear it until you step on the gas and if your on the freeway you dont hear it at all at cruising speeds and it sounds like a beafed up mustang thats the closest thing I can compare it too without the clunking noise ofcourse I like the sound it makes its awsome and even older people at the dealers have commended me on the sound reminds them of the older muscle cars I guess and after that they tell me stories about there corvettes and chevelles and GTO's and on and on and on ofcourse I love hearing those stories cause they are good racing stories and they give me Ideas on what to do next to my car that and Im a big car nutt
the problem is that I love increased hp or acceleration, and I don't mind the extra $$$, but I DO NOT want any extra sound.
Is there any way I could shield the sound? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as soon as I find a way to shield the sound really well I will happily install the SRT HFI/ECU. You guys might think I am weird not liking the muscular sound, but I wanna keep the Lexus as close to luxury as possible and make it fast without sacrificing added noise.
a few people dynomated the heatshield a while back and they did say that it deadend the sound alot you could try that it might work and if you want to add preformance without sound you should realy lok into a torque converter that makes a diffrence on your car
