Question About the Gs
Hello all, I'm a newbie
, and would like to know which model is better. I heard Gs430 insurance is a killer, especially in ny.. So i'm going for between 400 & 300. Which one would be better of with because i'm looking to buy by atleast early next year. Thanks in advance

I have a GS430 and live in NY. I pay some where in the range of 1600 for full coverage insurance and thats under my parents names. I think it all comes down to how good your driving record is, and how much the car is estimated to be worth. GOOD LUCK
I'd say go for the GS400! nothing beats the quiet smoothness of the V8 (and when you gun it, it has a nice roar). The two have similar gas consumption... except I think because I got used to the V8's power, I kind of gun it a little more on the 300... so I end up spending more gas on the GS. Plus, the GS400's have e-shift! (the newer 300's have it, too)
P.S.I have a GS300 and an LS430.

wait.. why does the 430's insurance cost more than a 400? i mean maybe a little yes but they are both V8 powered GS's.. they should run around in the same ballpark no? or am i missing something here?
btw.. go with the 400.. i have a 430 and you can't beat the power of a smooth lexus V8... its just raunchy!

Tricky question. What are you planning to do with this car? Daily commute or all out modding like some of the crazy guys here on CL?
If you are modding it, you can't go wrong with the GS300 which shares the same powerplant as an N/A supra. Now that's a HECK lot of modding potential right there.
But for daily commute, nothing like a silky smooth V8 to make you smile everytime you start your car.

Well I used to have the 400 but went down to the 300.. Go with the 400 ! Though you like the power at first, then you want some MORE power later on... If you are a power freak, go with the 3 and turbo it.

oh and yes, go with the v8, it's the king
the i6 eats about the same gas, and yes you can turbo it easy, but to make it a lot of power, you talking a lot of money and a lot of stuff to change. it's almost the same, but not the same engine as that on the supra tt.
