First time GS400 owner!
I had a silver 94 LS400 for a few yrs and it was nice but wanted a bit more power so found a nice 99 GS400 with 67500 miles on it, white with tan leather, all options except navigation. It is quite a rush, and an all around perfect fit of a car for my style. This one has the OE chrome 17 wheels, spoiler and is in very clean shape. I am the third owner, the couple I bought it from purchased it as a certified car around 25k.
The interior is great, much more comfortable than the 94 LS400 for my daily commute. And a nice powerband, so much fun and I like the exhaust tone too. I have a feeling flashing lights will be in my rear view soon, this car just loves to run...pictures to come...
congrats! let the modding begin
But with this GS I probably will be very mild on mods. Some 18 wheels, maybe lowering,... I will be researching here and asking the GS newbie questions, so help me out. I guess the lowering choice would be L tuned springs and shocks, if it would get me about 1" that is all I need.
I am in Mexico all this week, heading back today to Dallas Tx - and can´´t wait to get back and make the drive home in the GS400...

Welcome! and yes you will, as I experienced this scenario earlier this week....81 in a 50 and because of the status of the car and my age, obviously my PBA cards and badge meant **** to the officer who nabbed me
can't wait to see what the 8 points does to my insurance
in light of it all, I love the V8 in this beast, matched with the sooo supple and comfy leather that the car exhibits...you too will fall in love with it!

Everybody starts out with conservative goals of modding their car, but if you are like most folk on here, those conservative goals slowly but surely graduate to not so conservative mods. Modding is an addiction and hobby that you can never have enough of.
I started out in a similar manner and put on L-tuned springs/shocks on my car. A year later I got rid of the L-tuned setup and moved to a coilover setup with adjustable height and damping! Trust me, one year from now or sooner you will very likely be doing the same thing. Save yourself some money and just get the Tein Flex or Tein CS coilover with EDFC (electronic damping force controller) and you will not have to upgrade your suspension again.

I too was thinking when I first got the car that I would just put on suspension/rims and I will be happy. Well, as you can see from my mod list, I got a couple other things.
As for the suspension, I also say go for the coilovers, I have l-tuned suspension currently and am considering switching out for Tein Coilovers.

CHEERS!
Well if you see my signature, I have a supercharged 1988 LX Mustang coupe, w a 351w. It made 413 rwhp and 491 torque, and that is with the clutch loosing grip at 4600 rpm, and still passes sniffer emissions and runs cool a-c (have to here in Tx). So I love to change up my cars to something lower, faster, etc. I did all the work such as dropping in the new motor, compete disc brake conversion, blower install, restore interior from faded blue to black.

Here is a picture. It is running great. Nice mileage too, 18.5 and 19.5 so far. K&N is going in tomorrow and I picked up a new set of OE floor mats at Sewell Lexus in Dallas for a great price. I am having a bit of trouble getting the balance of the wheels, Discount has done them twice, first time worse, 2nd a bit better but not as smooth as they need to be.
