Default What speed do you start hearing wind noise

What speed do you start hearing a little wind noise. Mine starts around 50mph or so. Not bad at that speed, but you can start to barely hear it.
I decided all GSes have some wind noise. I just had my window seals replaced via warranty and it still sounds the same.

80 to 90 mph pretty loud. Yours?

I have no wind noise at all. I don't drive over the speed limit. However "my friend's" GS gets a little louder when he gets above 85MPH. I think it has to do with the 17" wheels also.

I remember that the car was a whole lot quieter when I had the 16s.

Default GS wind noise

I've got a 98 GS400 with the factory 17" wheels. I noticed the wind noise when approaching 60 MPH. Next time you encounter the noise, try this. Hit the down window button as quickly as possible. All you want to do is break the seal, but keep the window within a fraction of an inch of being fully closed. That stopped the noise for me, and the windows appear to remain sealed. I only did this with the driver's window as that appeared to be where the noise originated. Give it a try on the rest of the windows and see if it doesn't help.

Try pressing the top of the windscreen to see if that reduces the noise. I had a screen that wasn't fitted correctly which cause quite a bit of wind noise above 55mph. Dealer refitted it and is now much much better.

There is also a TSB about wind noise caused by the mirrors, have a look in the library section.

I start hearing it at 65-70 mph. It increases dramatically above 80 mph.

Another thing to have your dealer check is the door alignment. I use to hear wind noise at 50 mph. I complained and the dealer checked the seals (no problems found) and did a door alignment.

I got another 15 mph of quiet.

BTW, has anyone put on more aerodynamic after-market mirrors?

If so, does it decrease the wind noise?

I am considering this mod, but only if it reduces the noise.

Check for missing drain hole plugs in your floor boards. The wind gets in these holes and rushes up into the cabin and creates a sound as if your windows are not properly seated. Check this thread...https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=70515. Good luck.
