Unhappy my car is all over the road .........

ok since i installed my wheels and my coilovers it seems that iam fighting my steering wheel while driving .I notice that iam 'drifting around' in my lane I have 9" wide wheels in front and this provides a huge contact patch which grabs everything in the road.Does anywone think that the Ltuned steering ecu will help out my problem ?? thanks shawn

sounds like you need an alignment bad! Toe-in and camber are probably out of whack.......

(the reports I've read on the steering ecu around this site are only marginally favorable)

2 things i could recc , 1 is you need a front strut bar , whenever you increase the size of the front contact patch area you are putting a tremendous amount of strain on the front end bushings , arms and shock mounts , remember they were designed to work with the contact patch of no more then 235/45/17 and a 7.5 in rim , you are up to 9in with a 245/35/20.. 2 thing is get a toms front lower control brace with the extra link .. that will help the lower control arm stay within its designed range of deflection and tighten things up front nicely

im sort of on the same boat, im not fighting the bumps too hard like you make it out to seem. i do have to hold the wheel though or it will wack out, i've always assumed it was factoring in larger wheels and my trd sways. havent ppl on this forum complained already about how the steering wheels becomes loose as speed increases? i believe you could possibly tighten the steering wheel colum, i think called a tensionor screw or bolt? btw im running 8.5"

this is nostalgic....

My 00 Civic SI had this problem.... 18s, Tokico 5 ways, ebaichs, front and rear sways....

The low pro tires grabbed EVERYTHING on the road.....on bumpy roads it truly felt like i was fighting the wheel.

I uuuusssuuuaaallllyyy won the battle.

Don't drive in the rain until this is corrected.....rain will only aggravate the problem.

I finally got a place to do my alignment RIGHT, after a third time having it royally ****ed up

now I am planted well on the road. And BTW these cars are REALLY sensitive to road imperfections. All it took was a nasty pothole to make my steering wheel and the rest of my car crooked
