Question Not Sure If I Should Post Here Or Lighting

So I actually posted in both. Delete whichever one is not necessary but, heres whats also in the lighting forum.

A buddy of mine, who has a GS3 w/o HID is getting a retrofit. I have a question asking if leveling motors from a GS400 can be used in his retro? Now I know theres alot of wiring involved, does anyone by chance know the wiring diagram for it? Also the guy performing it says he'll try and use a mirrors up and down switch to somehow give leveling capabilities from inside. Could someone help me out or let me know if any of these is even feesible?

uhhhh.....that sounds heinously complicated and more costly (and riskier) than it'd be worth. further, i wouldn't go with the whole "mirror like switch" unless i was doing it myself, because I wouldn't trust anyone else. beyond that, i think anyone who says "well, i'll try it like that" probably doesn't have a clear plan.....not the best idea

i've heard of retrofitting the hids onto the non-hid one, but only without the autolevelers. the wiring harness from the hid's can be sliced and diced to connect to work with an originally non-hid system.

don't quote me on this one, but I'm confident that the sensors used to make sure that the autolevelers work correctly are located not just up front (in bumpers), but there are also some in the back.

i wouldn't at all be surprised if there's a gyro involved somewhere, too.

personally, i'd never let someone try anything other than just retrofitting the hid's in on the non-hids. the autolevelers are just a nice feature during hard braking or hard acceleration. otherwise, i've never seen any other use for them. remember, you can always adjust those lights (even the hids) using the traditional screws on/near the assembly.

do some searches, and I bet you'll find something

best wishes,
hawk
