ROFLMAO, LOL, that's so funny. My sides hurt.

For a 90 degree turn, the turn signal always resets itself.

However, for lane changes, you're on your own. You have to turn the steering wheel a certain degree before it resets itself. Usually, a lane change doesn't do it.

I used to do what Rominl does. Gently, move the turn signal for a brief second or so (don't fully click it). But that itself is taking too much concentration. So what do I do? I click it, switch lanes and click it back.

When I want to change lanes, I usually don't signal before I make my lane change. If you do it here in NYC, once other people see your turn signals, they'll speed up to close the gap.

So I just check my mirror and blind spot. As I'm turning my wheel to make the lane change, I click the turn signal at the same time. Once I'm in the lane, I turn it back off. All it takes is 2 seconds.

However, I see older (more cautious) people with their turn signals on for a minute or so BEFORE they make their move. Once people see your turn signal, they'll just speed up and close the gap on you. I feel bad for older drivers. I always let them in front of me....cuz I know, one of these days, I'll be just like them when I get older.
