Default E-Shift Rocks!!!!

Got a chance to play with the e-shift for the first time today.........

Really impressive to me........

I`ve searched the forum and the concensus seems mixed on the frequency of use.... I think I`ll probably use it more than most.......

Pretty cool....Just did some 2nd - 3rd gear stuff today.... Lot more ooomph than my 95........

Default Welcome to CL!

Glad to hear you are lovin' your GS-EXCELLENT color choice BTW...
Yeah, I love the e-shift and use it quite often. In fact, I used it this morning to spank some smart a$$ in his Civic SI. I had it in 2nd as I came around corner to the fwy. on ramp and this guy thought he would snake me on the inside of the turn. WRONG!!
After the gearing change (3.76 LSD) on this car, in 2nd gear it absolutely TAKES OFF!! I don't race on the street, but this jerk had it coming...

A 99 Stock Civic Si is 1.6L 160 hp , 0-60 in 7.2 vs 300HP Stock GS4. That's a waste of time and precious fuel. I hate it when they sup up Civics with a Boeing 747 Spoiler and a supped up muffler that sounds like a mosquito. But i agree with you since he had it coming. It's like popping a zit.

word, I would have to agree. a 4cyl civic, vs a v8 lexus is a waste of premium gas. I do understand that you felt it necessary to teach him a lesson, but when all is said and done, you get to say you beat a civic and he gets to say he lost to a v8....

I dunno which one is worse

I don't think FutureGS4200's post had to do with necessarily racing a Civic, but more of teaching him a lesson as he tried to do this.

I had it in 2nd as I came around corner to the fwy. on ramp and this guy thought he would snake me on the inside of the turn.
It's not about a V8 beating a Civic, but simply showing the stupid Civic owner that he should not do what he was trying to do. Even if it was an M3 trying to do that, I would have given him a run for his money. I am sure the M3 would have spanked me, but at least I would have made him work for it because he would not have expected it.

I use my e-shift too on on-ramps just to get up to speed fast. That's my daily drug fix!

Cool

Yeah, I didn't mention the Civic SI incident to gloat over the fact that I beat a 4 banger but just to say that this guy thought he was a real clever dude and I dunno, it just didn't go over well with me. Just an emotional reaction I guess. It was a nice Civic too-not riced out etc. and very clean with an exhaust and intake (at least it sounded like it). Still no contest for the GS4 of course, but I think HE thought it would be! Now he knows better.... The point being---e-shift rocks!!

Precisely, it has nothing to do with the engine size!

Good point! It's all about power to weight ratio for the most part... BTW, I normally avoid "opportunities" to race many times a week in all the driving I do. Just not worth it IMO.

yeah i agree, i just raced a bit tonight (won't go into that. i would just say i didn't lose) and i think it's just too much of a waste of my gas if i keep on racing and racing and by murphy law there is always a cop close by anyway, haha...

and yup, honestly while i don't really like 4 bangers and not sure if i would get one, i don't underestimate them. even if you get a civic with the tsx or rsx-s engine dropped in there, together with h/e/i and chip, 230whp on that light car they can spank us any day they want already
