Well, when stupid people do stupid things, stupid things happen.
The ground was wet and I figured I might just take VSC off for one little 90 degree turn to have some fun. Didn't think much at all about how narrow the road was -- mainly because it was surrounded by grass and some trees ... the trees looked far away because I never thought of running off the road and going into the grass.
Stupid me. I make a sharp right and the back end swings left -- I think I'm done here ... but I overcorrect it WAY too much and the car backend swings to the right and does a 180 and my front end goes off into the grass followed by my rear end the whole time. All of this while a tree is INCHES away from my bunper. The whole thing took about 5 seconds to happen but to me it felt like minutes.
My friend was in front of me and he just stopped ...
I'm way too lucky. I used to love doing this a lot and have done it many many times in my car but I guess I'm going to be stopping from now on. Way too much too risk and I got out of this one lucky.
No harm to the car ... except grass and dirt that got kicked up all over the driver side of the car.
Now that you are positively sure that you are safe, you should compose yourself, get out of the car and say something retarded like, "I didn't know drifting like a pro was going to be this easy.....sheesh, i dunno what the heck the big deal abt drifting is....."

The 1st thing I do when I start my car is turn it off. At times the cutting of power can be dangerous when merging in traffic when you get just a slight amount of wheel slippage. And if you're careful in the rain it really shouldn't be a problem. Although having a good feel for the throttle is helpful with VSC off too.

Nothing at all ... felt like the luckiest guy in the world last night.

This kind of bites me in the butt for all that "Reckless" stuff huh? Hehe, no camera was on Which, is also probably a good thing

On the VSC thing, I will disagree.

I see what you're coming from. I guess make sure to be cautious taking VSC off when you are in the rain and have less than 10% tire tread left
WOW!! Good thing u ain't hurt and the car is in one piece. Sounds like you need new tires . Tell pops to hook you up. I don't have VSC in my SC but I probably would never use it anyway. Being that you are my brother and crazy driving runs in the family, you probably gassed it pretty good when u turned. I did the exact same thing in my old SC (270 degree spin out....parrallel to perpendicular to oncoming traffic). I also spun the car out at 120mph. Luckily no one was around to hit me or rather...for me to hit . Be careful next sucka! Remember no LSD in rear = less control in wet conditions.
must of been a wicked 90° turn man....glad your ok....i usually just mess around in wet parking lots and do figure eights, i have never tried drifting on the streets and now im glad i have never tried. too bad no else filmed this incident it would of been pretty neat to see.
Glad you and the car are ok. 300 hp, approx. 3700 lbs and VSC off can be dangerous. I have had my first gen a little out of shape once and it was a little bit of a handful to get it back under control.
