It makes sense that the DVD one would have more zones because it has SOOO much more data in it, and without having more zones, searches would be slower.

Another reason is that while the DVD mechanism is easier to upgrade the the hard drive, the hard drive device is much faster due to minimal seek times.

Not saying HD is better - heck I'd definitely love to have the larger database and bigger screen with the DVD version.
