Question Lights and badging!

Here's an easy one for the local pros. What is involved in debadging my car? AND...I have a 2001 GS300 with HID's and would like all my lights to be white or bluish/white in nature. What bulbs are needed? Any ideas for cool front end light mods are welcome. Thanks guys and gals.

debadging is very easy. all you have to do is use dental floss or fishing wire, and movie it up and down. once you get all the way through you can peel it off. The black stuff that is left behind can be rubbed off with your thumbs.

as far as the lights goes, you can just use bulbs. do a search, and you can find out which ones you would like the most.

Thanks for the debadging links and tips. I was wanting to focus on the DRL's. From what I've read I can just throw in a extreme white bulb for a whiter light. Do you guys like a white or a blueish/white on the DRL's. I love my HID's. Any opinion on the yellow vs. white fogs?? Are the 6100k's brighter or just a different color?

6000k is the color temperature. technically it doesn't put out as much light as the stock, but practically i have had 3 cars with 6000k and i don't see any less light

In regards to debadging....I used a hair dryer and a credit/gift card (or something like that).....dental floss didn't work that well for me.

As for the DRLs....whatever bulb you replace the stock 9005 with (ie blue 9005)...it'll still look yellowish at 50% power.

Btw...keep the yellow fogs.

Pete

I changed out my DRL last night and they more white than yellow. Got the bulbs on ebay. I had 6 LED lights as the driving lights but they were too blue for me, even though they were white. Looked VERY ricer IMO. I actually switched out all my bulbs last night.

The PIAAs are great and very white vs Blue. I'm no longer a fan of Silverstars, as they both blew out within 3 months. My Low beams are PIAA 9006 and so are my Fogs. All my lights now match. They have a tiny touch of blue to them.

Can you take pics of your DRL during the day? I wanna see how "white" they look w/ your new bulbs.

I'll try to take pics this evening when I get home if I get off work at a decent hour. If not, then Saturday for sure.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the tips. I think I might keep my fog's yellow. They look cool that way also. I just like options. I think I will try the PIAA's on the DRL's though.

Well I don't think that PIAA Xtreme Whites will look very white in the DRLs. They are pretty bight and full power but I think the coating is less blue which will make them look a little yellow at half power. You might want to try a bluer PIAA bulb.
