driving down the road the other day and hit a 6" deep pot hole, bends both rims and flatens both tires, also broke on some neon tubes and made me pretty mad, the only good thing is that the city paid me 2100, just got the check today, so wi will fix the wheels even though i am sellin them............ you think i can fix the bend in the lip or am i gonna have to buy 2 new wheels.....

sorry 2 hear about this, but at least the city paid up 4 thier mistake , i did thesame when i lived in n.j. and they paid me fairly well.....it depends on how bad the lip were damaged but i would just replace them since they paid 4 it....

 

damn man the city paid you THAT fast??!! hell I gotta come to Florida and damage my wheels then, cause up north they dont do SQUAT!!

if the wheel is 350-400 each, probably cheaper to just by 2 new ones

 

the cool thing is that i get wheels wholesale but got a retail quote.... lol, works out for me...... i get the tires right now for 140 each, and the wheels for around 250 , so ill come out good.... so ill prob buy new ones.

I have a the 17 inch premium chrome wheels and I went to the lexus dealer 2 get wheel locks after months of my mother and father nagging me but they were out so i ordered some 2 days later my car was sitting on blocks outside of my apt complex DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!

 

yeah it was pretty quick, cuz it was exactly 8 days,,,,,

 

I didn't know the city would pay for damage...how did you go about getting it taken care of?

 

well i called the police and filed a report, told them that my wheels werent cheap, and showed the cop that the tires were flat and the wheels were bent, filed a report that stated that my personal proerty was damaged due to city neglect, i think what really helped me what that 6 other people filed as well.... the pot hole is on a road with no street lights, and it was 12 at night, so there is no way you could have seen it... i have never ht anything not even scrtached a curb but hit the biggest pot hold in florida....... figures
