DIY from HELL
After reading the original thread of this about a month ago, I went to Home Depot and bought the orange citrus paint remover and some of the finest steel wool they had. I went home and waited for my wife to take off with the kids and ran outside to remove the grill and start. I layed down the grill on some paper and took my trusty Q-tip and went for it. It was soooo easy. Just wiped the stuff on the front with the Q-tip and waited about 10 minutes and then took the steel wool and wiped it off. About 90% of it came right off with no scrubbing. The rest had to be scrubbed, oh so lightly, and it was done. I then hosed it off with water. Took me about 40 minute total. My wife pulled up right when I was hosing it off and thought I had gone crazy. Then when I showed her the grill installed on the car, she changed here mind and is now leaving me alone when I decide to make any mods to my car. The only thing I noticed is that I did not get a super clean edge along the slats. I guess if I were to do it again, I would just tape off the sides, and anywhere else I did not want chromed, and then go for it. Doing the whole grill is crazy!
Unless you have a bunch of time on your hands that is.
