Default Changing the battery in the key

Anyone know of where I could find instructions on how to change the battery in the remote myself? Is it as simple as opening it up and swapping the battery?

I went to Radio Shack and opened mine up there, so I could take the battery out, and buy the replacement on the spot!

Unhappy Stripped Screw

OK, did one of mine and worked on the second one but seem to have stripped the screw head as it just wouldn't budge. Any suggestions on how to get it open and the screw replaced?

Default Stripped Screw

That's good to hear that they have them available but I still need to figure out how to get the old one loose and out now that the head is stripped. In larger ones I've drilled them out but this is so microscopic that I don't have a small enough drill bit. Maybe I need to go see a jeweler and ask for help.

Default Update

Local jeweler took about 15 minutes to remove stripped screw for me at no charge. I haven't done business with him but chatted about cars and my GS. Saved me a trip to the dealer.

Amazing what strong batteries do for the range on the remote, I had forgotten what the real range can be.

How much did your range increase? I might have it done myself....

Default Range

Mine had gotten where I had to be within arm's reach to get the remote to work. Now I can be over 20 feet away and it works wonderfully. Cheap $2 fix to get back to original range.
