Problem: Navigation screen frozen!
I have a 1999 GS 300 (purchased in late 1998). Thursday, I noticed that the buttons on my navigation screen were frozen; I cannot press anything on the screen itself. However, when I pushed the buttons around the screen (ie., climate, menu, audio, temperature, FM, AM, CD, etc.), my navigation screen changes. I can't, however press anything ON the screen.
This problem has occured before, but my navi went back to normal after a few minutes/hours. This time, my problem still exists (after approx. 4 days).
Has anyone had a similar problem before with their navigation screen? Or does anyone know what could be wrong w/ mine? And how much would such a problem cost to be fixed?
I talked to some service guy at Longo Lexus (via telephone) and he was a jerk to me. I did NOT appreciate his lack of enthusiasm and unwillingness to help. Since my last car problem (with replacing the break master cylinder), and my problem with Longo & Cerritos of Lexus, I have not gone back to servicing my car @ the dealerships. Can you recommend somewhere ELSE I can go to? And how do the prices compare? (Cheaper, I hope).
Thanks (in advance) for your help!

My problem is, I don't know how to plot or locate the path of curse in the nav for me to avoid it!
Ive got the curse in my LS400. April got a new front bumper-Camry hit my wifey. Last May ,a 10-wheeler tire fall off got into my front bumper and under the car -change bumper and plastic under cover. May again Crown Victoria illegally changed lane hit my driver side fender. June 8, Infinity I-35 hit F150, F150 hit my right rear quarter pannel. Ive got a rough year with my LS400.
My GS400 has no navigation but it is fast enough to avoid the curse. I end up using it everyday. Oh yeah, it has a little course too. Small piece of construction nail is still in one of my front tire. If I remove that curse, it can't be repaired and I have to buy a new tire....
