Default I知 lost and need help

Recently did fuel pump car ran for 3 miles and died on me, I went ahead and did a warranty claim for the pump and it started first try but only ran for 10 seconds. I have tested the efi relay and fuse both came out good. I知 not sure on what to do anymore. I have read that there could be air in the lines but I知 not sure on that. I know the fuel pump works just fine because I took the main hose off the pump and cranked it and it shot fuel everywhere. I致e also done vvt sensors, cam and crank sensors along with looking over the timing. It does start on starting fluid so I知 almost positive it痴 a fuel issue.

Hello,

Why did you replace the Fuel Pump in the first place?
What Brand of Fuel Pump did you get as a replacement?

The fact that it sprayed Fuel all over the place doesn't necessarily mean that you have Fuel Pressure. Look at the Screws on top of the Fuel Pressure Dampeners as you Crank or Run the Engine, depending on its current condition, if you have sufficient Fuel Pressure, they will be Raised above the Surface, below is an image about it.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

My pump was giving out, I went and got an Import Direct pump from O坦iellys twice now. I will have to have someone help me with cranking it over. If there is good pressure but it starts on starting fluid what do you think could be the problem? But if there isn稚 any pressure at all could it be air in the lines? I don稚 believe I could致e gotten two bad pumps in a row right. I値l give looking at the damper screws a go tomorrow! Thanks for the advice! Just hoping to get it running for the fall time, it loves the cooler weather, maybe that痴 why she痴 throwing fits.

Well, Store Brands have a long and proud history of being a load of junk, here is one of the thread that go in a bit more detail, I would pretty much never trust whatever it is that they sell to not catch on fire the moment I leave the store.

None of the OE manufacturers seem to make Fuel Pumps for those cars anymore as far as I can tell, so the only Fuel Pump that fits those cars that I would trust is made by AEM, here is a link to it. Here is a place for any other aftermarket parts.

Either way, those pump tend to be extremely reliable, you usually have to actually try to wreck it for one to go out, I wonder if the issue that you have never had anything to do with the Fuel Pump giving out, it may be an entirely different issue was never fixed with the new Fuel Pump, as it may not have been the culprit in the first place.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
