Default Power Steering Reservoir Replacement

accidentallh ripped off the nipple on the power steering reservoir trying to removing the return hose on my 2000 GS400

Took a trip to the junkyard and found one from a ES that was danm near similar. i expected it to fit the same! it even fit on the bracket perfectly!
but unfortunately it didn't work due to the nipple connections being vertical rather than horizontal not allowing room for hoses to fit.

been looking online for a replacement but holy fvvvk, there're out of my budget.

is there a reservoir from a different vehicle that is compatible with the Gs400?

been searching around & I found 2 alternatives that look really similar to the gs 400 with the hose nipples coming out of the bottom. But before i brake the bank or order an uncompatible reservoir can somebody guide me ?

for Nissan Pathinder

For bmw

Can you just get some hose from the hardware store and bend it around?

We have this same issue on Volvos. Before 2004, the brake reservoirs were soft, bulged, and failed. The 2005+ ones were perfectly and fit in, but the hose attachment is just a little different.

Solution is get some hose and adapt it. Ezpz. I’ve done this many times.

you could use that aftermarket reservoir. The hose barbs are the right size, you could just ziptie it to the bracket the factory reservoir uses.youll need to add an inline p/s fluid filter if you go that route. It's a good idea either way. The fluid gets hot and dirty pretty fast and that causes the P/S system to leak from every seal after a few years
