Default '01 Tails Wanted

Hey Guys

Im new to the club and its great to see other Lexus enthusiasts such as myself particularly in the GS model. I have a '00 GS400 and would like to change my tail lights to the '01. Can anyone help me out with cost and where I may find them?

Used ones are rare since most upgrade to these tails. I have seen a few though, especially the guys who upgraded to JP tails.

As for new, contact Steve Ganz over at Carson Toyota. You might also try to PM rominl. No guarantees on the latter. They should run you about $300 give or take a few for both + harness.

Hi Welcome to Clublexus.
I hope that you will find this forum useful

There are several ways to get new taillights and I got mine from Rominl (his Clublexus Nickname). You can send him a pm and ask him to hook you up.

Just go to private message and type his Nickname and ask him for the hookup.

Hope you will come to CL more often.

Like Bit said, they are from Junction Produce. They are like the 01+ tails except the amber is cleared out. The last statement is not entirely true. They did not clear out the tails since it is not possible (Some have tried, none has been successful). JP built a mold and made the tails without the amber.

In any case, they are about 1200-1400. Not cheap but definitely exclusive. There may be less than10 in the US right now. At that price, I can see why. Most of the guys who have JP tails have basically many of the "standard" mods already (kit, brakes, suspension, performance) so they were looking to add something a little "extra".

...actually, my gfriends cousin is in the military and is currently stationed in Japan. I met him this past summer. He told me back then if i ever needed anything from Japan to email him. That dawned on me today . SO i just emailed him to see if he can get those tails there. Maybe he can get them for less..maybe not. We will see...

I agree whole-heartedly. I think $1000 can go a long way to do other mods that will necessarily make a car better than just pure cosmetics. Especially since it just looks like someone painted over the yellow part of the 2001+ lights white/clear.
