JDM headlight update...
feast your eyes on that thread if your lamps are milky or yellow. Some good info and pics.
Condensation I thought everyone knew about. You bake the lamps in the oven and pull them apart. There's a few step-by-step threads around. I don't think that really a common prob with our lights, though.

from my local lexus dealership i got quoted $459.00 a piece and from the oem wholesale website i got quoted $365.00 a piece. pretty spendy no matter how you look at it.
anyone comes across some JDM's you gotta let us brothers know!
You figured it out yet? I'd like to see what it looks like. What are the real-world advantages of having the JDM headlights (I know what you wrote above I was wondering if once you installed them that was true)? Sounds cool man. Nice work.
PICS
. but like i said, you lose the ability to adjust your headlights via the water bubble, and the leveling indicator...but my headlights came pretty well adjusted already
. also, i found out that black, plastic trim piece that covers the usdm headlights will NOT fit the jdm headlights, and i do not know if the jdm headlights come with that piece. i'll go find out though. Is your headlights all hooked up?
. Order from {-_-}. He's in Japan, is a great guy and will answer all your questions.
. he's helped me on several occasions, and without him, i'd probably have to fly to japan to dig thru the junkyards myself
. thanks robert
as far as the oem headlights go, once in a while, they have sets on ebay for less than $150, but most of them are used. i think i got quoted something like $350 or $500 for a brand new oem headlight at the dealership. i forget which price, but it was one of those prices. i had a brand new oem headlight on my car when i first bought the car. i think the previous owner cracked one of the headlights and had it replaced with a new one. the difference between the used and the new one was like night and day. obviously the new one was crystal clear while the used one was a little yellowed. no matter what i tried on the used one, it would never look as good as the new one. to put it in a better perspective, when i put my hid's in, the new one would emit a bluish tone, while the used one would be a little greenish. they both balanced out after a while, but it was still noticable.

Good to hear everything worked out GREAT

hey mischevious you slap a paint job on that shiny **** or just wax the crap out of it???
. right before the show i had the front bumper repainted, and my friend buffed the whole car out again to get most of the swirl marks out, then I did a 3-step zaino right before the show.what type of HID's are you getting hooked up with? if it's just the bulbs, you might run into more problems if they aren't the plug & play type...meaning the base of the bulb should be a 9006 base. if you get bulbs that came off a stock car (D2R or D2S), you might need to do some modifying before you can even get those bulbs to fit. if you really want to get into the details of it...hop on over to the Lighting forum and theres a thread that can help you with all the finer details of it...heres a link ---> Hid info .
thx
