Default Need advice!!

I have a 2001 GS 300 that I just found out needs a new transmission shaft. Its gonna cost about $1600 to fix. I paid $2600 for the car and I had hopes to resale it. Is it worth fixing and trying to resale still or just keeping it or do nothing and try to sell it as a fixer or for parts?

Need a few more details..and you probably want to be in the GS 2nd Gen area someone there would probably be happy to sell you lots of stock stuff as they upgrade.

But let me try to help..

Do you mean Driveshaft? is it vibrating? usually the bearing support is going bad. If its the universals (u-joints) on the driveshaft you can usually get a local drive shaft shop to make a new one for 400-600 depending on where you are.
Or get a used one from a junk yard $100-150

If you do mean transmission shaft you're probably going to be happy to know tons of low mileage transmissions from Japan sell for 200-400 all the time. look for a JDM supplier that supports our forum.

( mods move to 2GS GS 2nd Gen )
