Default A/c compressor continuously runs even when turned off

So my ac compressor is continuously running, even when I am not using it. What would cause this to happen? My ac blows cold and works fine, it's just that the compressor doesn't disengage when I shut it off from the panel inside. Where would I begin troubleshooting? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a damaged leaking capacitor inside of the ECU. I sent it off to be repair and the problem was fixed.

Does it run even with the climate control all off? Ac will run in any defrost position.

Where did you send it off to get repaired? Also, how did you track it down to that being the issue vs a bad compressor?

I checked for power down at the compressor and worked my way back until I realized that the ECU was constantly commanding the compressor to be on even when the switch was off. I sent the ECU to be repaired at lextech.org

Couldn't this be as simple as a sticking compressor clutch?

the fact that its blowing air when its off tells me something is screwy at the ECU/panel level. A sticky clutch you can check by hand when the car is off. It should be free and spinning when not engaged. If its stuck tot he pulley, it won't spin.
