Default weird indicator problem

i was going home the other day and all of a sudden the TRAC light came on and stayed on the whole time, this is not the light for the traction control though the one right next to it. When i turned the car off and restarted it it went away, this happened 2 times so far and i checked the manual and it says to take it to the dealer, i was just wondering if you any of you have an idea about what that is, thanks for helping

Question

I had that same problem a few months back. After I switched over to 20" rims, the TRAC light would come on and stay on for the duration of the drive. It wouldn't come on EVERYTIME, just every once in a while. I finally took it to a friend that had a code reader and he found out the Traction Control was basically coming on when it wasn't supposed to. Something about the motor over working itself or something...i forgot the exact quote he used . I asked if it could be the size of the rims that made a difference, but he said it shouldn't matter. A few weeks later, I had to reset my ecu because i had put in my new intake...after the reset, the TRAC light has not once came back.

i got 18s but don't think that makes a difference, maybe i should try resetting the ecu too. It's just a once in a while thing so i don't think it's that big of a deal, thanks for the advice though

No you don't have it. The light is there on mine to but it is never used.

1. If you pop the hood, you should see a box like thing with the words TRAC written in big letters. Trust me, if you had it you would know.

2. Look below your odometer on the black molding that goes around the gauge cluster. See that little square outline where a button should be? That is where the track button would be if you had it.
