Default Ls 400 front brake upgrade?

My brothers got a 97 ls400. He has an extra set of calipers. I know that it can be done to the second gen gs, but how bout the first gen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did it. It takes A LOT of griding to get it to work. If you need me to, I can take pictures of the bottom of the calipers and the bolt I had to grind to get it to fit...

Take a look at my most recent posts in my build thread and you will see I just did it. Uploading new pics here in a second.

OR, you can do it right and buy a RCA kit, there's a couple people in the UK that sell it. easy install and no sketchy grinding to do

How is grinding "sketchy?" Its not like you have to grind a bolt off.

So from some research I've done, those RCA's are more prone to failure than simple grinding. Not to mention, when you spend $200 on RCA's you have more in your LS setup than you would a TT supra setup (which from what I have read clear fine). The LS setup is a BBK on a budget and that's why people use them. They aren't concerned with simple grinding.

To the OP,

Here's the thread with instructions from a ClubLexus member who had upgraded the LS400 brake for the 1st Gen GS300.

I believe the 2GS RCA kit does fit the 1GS.

I also seen pics of ppl grinding both the bolt and the caliper...and one member who grinding the caliper too much and made a hole in it...YIKES!!!
