Default power steering problems

ok so the other day my ps pump was making the one off sound it makes when it goes bad...whining and grunting. so i went to a parts store and got a new one...very simple job, replaced it and now it still has some whining noise when i turn

i fairly certain all the air is out of the system, fluid level is correct, fluid is not aerated, no foam on top of the fluid, i cleaned the mesh in the bottom of the res. when i changed out the pump....does anyone know or have an idea why my pump could still be whining?....maybe there still is air in the system...

I had the same issue. I ended up putting the return line in a bucket and had plenty of type IV handy. I hand cranked the pump obviously with the belt off until I cycled a whole bottle of fluid. Hooked it back up and it was fixed. Maybe I got lucky, maybe I didn't.

Jack the front of the car up to get both front wheels off the ground, take the PS reservoir cap off, and turn the wheels side to side (lock to lock). You should see the fluid level drop and you can add fluid as it does. Here's a link to instructions for bleeding a new pump: http://www.agrperformance.com/wp-con...structions.pdf

Yeah I tried that several times. Didn't get better till I ran a bottle through it by hand. My neighbor did the same thing and ran a bottle through on an old ES300 and it worked for him too. I'm not sure why it worked and the lock to lock didn't.
