what is this missing part?
1994 GS 300 in the owners manual on page # 117.
there is a square above park and above/ left of the shifter.
what is that square? all I have is an empty hole.
where can I get the replacement part?

Check with Lexus and see if they have it. If not the next best thing would be to try and find someone parting their car out or if you can find one at a junkyard.
That little piece allows you to manual put your car into neutral or any other gear if you can't turn your car on and put it into gear. Basically you stick your key in the hole with your foot on the brake, and it will allow you to manual change the shifter to whatever gear you want.

I'm not 100% certain, but I agree that it looks like that is where a "shift lock" button would be.
On supras, there is a little button that says "shift lock", and lets you change the shifter position, even with no key installed.
