Default need help.....

My dad drove car yesterday and said the car started to smoke under the hood just as he arrived home. So today I checked all of the fluids and everything was fine except it was very low on antifreeze. SO i bought Toyota antifreeze and added the whole gallon into radiator and reservoir. Went for a test drive and the car started to overheat within 15 minutes and it started to smoke under the hood. I oppened the hood and I heard like "wooosh" sound where the smoke was coming from kind of sound when you pour a water over hot pipe. The smoke is coming from the back of the engine behind intake manifold. Any thoughts??? I cannot have car checked before monday.

Check the heater hose way in the back of the engine by the firewall. When my car was constantly overheating i found out it was that hose that was cracked. like deknick said it could be a lot of things.

Well thank you all for help. I did the pressure test and found the coolant was leaking from one of the hoses. Did the custom hose and put it on then I replaced the coolant with Toyota Red Long Life and baby runs like brand new again

Same exact thing happened on my Supra when I had it. Two friends and I had to push it uphill about 100 feet night on time and that things a tank!

Glad to see you did get it fixed. +1 for checking your hoses, especially in older cars. Imagine if it popped on the freeway or something and you couldn't pull over immediately or something.
