not the fosgate but my buddy used the pioneer sounds pretty good!! only one problem it tends to hit a little hard so it looks like the back glass wants to pop out at times

i have a 12" JL IB4. Fits in the stock space and is a free air sub. great range, more than enough bass in my opinion (hits harder than the two 12" fosgate p1s i used to have) , but not glass shattering bass.

I'm still not sure between 10" & 12". i'm going to buy the box that's pre-made by Rockford Fosgate and they're less than $20 difference in price.

Did you get a chance to take the pics of the install yet?? How does the 12 sound?? Does it rattle your rear deck a lot?? I hate when there's rattle inside the cabin...PET PEEVE

sorry i haven't got the pics yet... ive been working late lately... i will try to get them this weekend though...

you wont need a box... if you have the nakamichi system then you can go 12" if you don't than you will prob have to get the 10" and just sit it in the pre-made hole already there.... it doesnt rattle as long as you bolt the woofer down with the screws provided..

so you can use this sub like a free-air sub?? wouldn't it be better to have the shallow box mounted underneath the opening?? i do have the nak system...so i'm probably going to run a single 12 in there. is your rear deck rattling bad?? do you use dynomat on your setup??

ok finally had some time to take some pics of the setup i have...

1. My amp is located where the CD changer used to go...

2. look at the sub...

3. Another look at the sub from the trunk..

4. A look at the sub sitting in the stock sub hole...

5. A closer look at the sub...

I mounted it down with only 3 screws but the sub came with more screws... It doesn't rattle at all and is still holding tight.... hope this helps out your decision to go with the same setup...

ahhhhhhhhhhh man! that came out CLEAN!!! i still have my rear seat and rear deck "cover" on the car. that cover rattles w/ the stock sub...that's y i was asking how much more it would rattle w/ a better sub.
i also called rockford fosgate and they told me this sub isn't designed to be a free-air sub, and that even though it would sound good in the stock sub mounts, it would sound "best" in an enclosure. This definitely helps w/ my decision! i'm going p3 sub in the rockford fosgate box, and it will be aiming upwards toward the stock sub-mount. I'll post some pics once this is done...thanks again bro. you're setup still looks sweet!
