ooh dude... i dunno about that. thats got a lot of maybe to it. tranny is pretty expensive and theft means you could be missing parts you don't know about. post some pics of it.

As to price, with 190K on the clock and those issues alone, i wouldn't pay a dime more than 2.5K, on a good day when i'm feeling generous.

i got my 95GS with 100K miles and very minor issues (some switches missing etc.) for 4.8K. Don't pay too much just cause you've been waiting a while for a 1GS. even though it is an awesome car

Just friendly advice

If you pay 1500 for the whole car, 2000 for the front clip, and do the labor yourself, you should have a badass little race car.

Due to theft? Just figure out what they took, your replacing the engine, who cares about anything in there. If your just gonna use this as a little play car, then anything missing inside shouldnt really matter. Probably last owner had a nice stereo or something. I doubt someone stole anything that really mattered.
I would do it, I would offer 1300, if they say no, offer 1500, if they say no, forget it, its not worth more than 2000, and I wouldnt spend more than 1500. But thats just me.

i agree. i chose 2.5K as the upper threshold assuming it was immaculate with the above problems. Its probably not "immaculate" so i agree with the 1500 cap.

Oh, well, in that case, just go through the car and see if anythings messed up. Hopefully not, because this seems like a good deal.

Savage? Not a good deal any time... unless you have many free time to search for parts and $$ for mechanic repairs. In the long run you will paid more than a running car.

If it was salvaged due to flood I would not touch it. Look under the carpets and in the trunk at the spare tire mount and wing nut for rust. If you keep it till it dies, the salvage title won't matter. If you go to sell, may be a problem.

Well it is 1993 so it is 15 years. People savlage title does not hurt on 15 year old junk clean or not title it is worth like 1000 bucks.
