Default Moving Forward...TRANNY DEAD!

What's up FAM??

So my TRANNY went out on me last December. My GS was my daily driver! I love this car and it's been sitting for nearly 1yr.

I have since purchase a new commuter car and want to get my 1st gen GS BACK on the road. I've thought of several options...

-2jzgte engine swap & tranny (over $5k plus headaches for mechanics, smog, etc)
-used tranny (close to $1k for everything including labor)
-fully rebuilt tranny ($1500 certified 2yr/24000 mile warranty)
-sell the car as is (DONT want to, but i want to be reasonable...)
-buy another 1st gen & switch over parts ($3k-$6k...depending)

This is crazy...I'm stuck fellas. I literally drove an hour & a half last night to see another 93 GS for sale, but was EASILY convinced that my car is still 100 times nicer than most of these cars on the road today. The motor only has 138k miles on it. It ran good......but too low & scraping the streets of LA caused the tranny to die on me.

-the only issues w/ my car at the moment are oil drips...daily (i was told i need a new oil pan)
-moon roof window has a crack and motor isn't working properly
-other than that & tranny, my car is in VERY good condiiton for it's age

***So here's where you guys come into play. I need some advice...tips, or just point me in the general direction of a mechanic, good friend...whomever can help me get it back on the road. My budget is $1k...but i'll spend more for a new motor/trans or whatever. i've heard of guys getting used engines w/ trannys for pretty cheap. I'd be willing to do something like that if it lasts another 100k miles. I dunno guys. What do you think??

HERE ARE SOME PICS if you guys don't remember me...

and here is one from WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back...

I really dig those wheels in the first picture! Are they aftermarket or Lexus OEM?
