$400 for HID's is a bit much. I don't care if they are name brand. The HID's I get you can beat the ballast with a hammer and then throw them into a fish tank while on. They cost $250 and take 15 minutes to install. That leaves $200. Go to www.millionbuy.com. I got a 5 channel soundstream amp referb a year and half ago for $99. After shipping you'd have about $75 for a sub for the deck.

the guy explained why it was so expensive....he said that he does HIDs differently than other shops...apparently he wires in a Relay of some sort that takes strain off the battery and makes the bulbs last longer.....

am i being fed a line of crap?

Whats going on Chris? There is no way I would spend $400 HIDs when you can get the same for a lot less. Why spend all your money on something you will only enjoy at night? I say go with what Chris suggested. You can stretch those $450 and get more for your money.

External relay is very easy to wire up, About $10 max for parts.

Hid in a reputable shop should not exceed $300 installed these days.

As for your stereo, don't cheese out on the amp selection. Get a name brand, just like the sub you chose JL audio. Get an A series JL A1200 you should be able to get it for a good deal. Should be plenty for 2 JL subs. Propably for around $179 or so and 2 suubs in a box for about $250-$300 JL is running a special right now with their enclosures. It isliek getting the box for free. PM me if you have any questions i willwalk you through what you need.

make sure those JL audio subs they give you aren't w1s... i don't think they'll handle 800 watts.
