Default Car shakes while braking

When im driving and go for the brakes the car seems to shake. it shakes like the rotors are uneven or something. Im guessing the motor mounts are gone because when i rev the engine moves a lot and when i brake my shifter also moves. anyone else had this problem? how'd they fix it?

It can also be worn steering link arms,
the linkages that connect the steering rack,
to the axles...

I just replaced both of mine,
and it totally fixed my
wobbling under braking issues.

I just got back from the brake shop with the same issue. They said my rotors needed replacing, so did my pads. Basically I had a complete brake job done to get rid of this problem. Now it still shakes a little but that's because my lower ball joints need to be replaced as well.
I basically drove the car too long while it was shaking that it messed up my lower ball joints. Lesson learned

Ah, that's some good info right there. I'll have to check mine, cause I know for sure it isn't my brakes/rotors casuing the shaking either.

Default Rotors

If the rotors aren't too old, you can get away with just machining the rotors ONLY. That would solve your pulsation issue. Make sure you lubricate the caliper sliders as well and clean the mating surface on the rotor itself and the hub assembly.

My left front lower ball joint needs to be replaced now, and my rotors are crystallized...no machining for them, new ones are coming!

Only when applying brake huh!?!
Take it to a reputable repair store and get a free brake inspection. Usually just need to turn rotors if rotors are above its thickness requirement. If brakes are in good condtion, you might have a problem with your vehicle's front end linkage... then you will need a a good alignment tech's inspection.

Where would be the best place to get the lower ball joints from? I thought it was my rotors (I have the same problem) but when you cut the wheel hard to turn around it'll shake also.

My brakes squealed until I got the pads changed today, but my rotors are still crystallized. so I have some maintenance to catch up on before i can do my mods
