I have had one installed for about a year. I'd probably say don't do it. Everything spins slower, alternator won't charge at idle, power steering will be harder to turn at low RPM's. I've found ways around these problems, however, the gain is not worth the hassle, if there is even any gain.

yea the whole charging thing is what really made me not wanna consider it unless there was actual proof of gain. my amp would draw to much power and kill the damn thing

Yeah, if you're running a system with high power amps and all that good stuff I wouldn't recommend it.

I used to run and underdrive pulley system on my 91 Pontiac Trans Am....I had a bangin' stereo system in it, and when I'd get to a stop I had to rev the motor up just so my car wouldn't die...the pulley system allowed for 20% reduction, so you can imagine how slow everything else was spinning,m including the alternator

I solved my probs with a alt from an auto supra turbo. 2 amps 2.2 farad cap 2500 watts
100 amps compated to the stock 80
mine charges at 90 amps, which is only 10% loss and that's about as good as an alt can run
car idles at 14 volts
no probs there
going to do electric fans (maybe water pump, prob is those have tons of draw)

The supra set may be cheaper, it's $503 for the GS3 set. pulley set

I can't see the point for maybe 10hp gain. If the gain is much greater I would be quite surprised. I'm not sure you'd even be able to feel the difference. I had an underdrive pulley on my old turbo 300Z and the reports of problems, crank wear, etc were simply not worth it unless you were trying to wring every last ounce of hp out of a car you drove only on the weekends.
