My antenna got bent (broken) going through a car wash. The motor still works, but it doesn't go up or down. Can I put one of those fubar (sp) or one of those black rubber antennas on there as a replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1996 GS300.

 

i think oem would look better. you can replace just the antenna mast; the lexus oem mast only costs $50. See this thread for instructions or do a search for similar threads regarding mast replacement:

should be the same on the GS. I'm planning to replace mine next weekend since i broke mine at a carwash as well.
