Need to replace my antenna, just the mast. Anyone have a recommendation as to where to buy the part? What about should I do it myself or have it done? Is getting to the antenna area of the vehicle and easy task?

Just did a search of inventoy of 1800 salvage yards. The price range on replacing your antena using an OEM unit from a salvage vehicle is $90 to $140.

IF nothing else this will give you some help on how much to spend.
