Default battery problem?

what's up guys.... I tried to start my car the other day, and it had a real hard time doing so. I haven't had any problems starting up lately, but now my sub is phasing in and out, and my keyless entry isn't working.
Could this be the battery slowing dying on me?

What do ya think?

will do... thanks for the reply guys. I'm going to invest in it this weekend. I'm really worried about my keyless though... I'm wondering why it would conk out like that but everything else is fine. That would be horrible if it'd stop working.

Maybe the battery in your key needs replacement too. These batteries are pretty cheap, you can find them at Walmart or K-mart.

Yeah, I thought so too... but I just replaced the battery not more than a month ago. I did notice that the button is a little softer than it used to be, then again, it could just be me being paranoid.. Is there a way to test the key itself? There's not led to see if it's even broadcasting a signal.

Just wait until you get a new car battery, hopefully that will solve the problem.

Does the key do infrared or what?

Mine has always sucked. Yours doesn't work at all? Maybe you accidentally hit the security switch with your knee and shut the whole system off. Or the fuse is out.

Yeah, mine doesn't work at all... one day it did, the next it didn't. The switch where my knee is only turns off the "beep" noise when you lock/unlock the doors. Is there another switch to completely disable the keyless entry?

I believe it uses radio-signals. I wish there was some way to extend the range.

Ya, it's near the trunk and gas release switches.

extending the range would be cool... but there's no way to tell if it's working from a distance, maybe if our lights flashed or something. Anyway, at this point I'd be happy for it just work.

Actually..............

If you hold the key under your chin your head acts as an antenna which helps broadcast the signal.

I learned that on clublexus so it must be true.

Actually my freind tried it with his Jetta and he's convinced it helps. But with our keys the stupid button is on the side of the key which makes it hard + if you are standing too far away you don't know if it locked or not.

That's right our keys can't use infared because there is no clear peice for it to shoot the beam through. DUH
