Brake Pads
DO NOT use pads that are red. they are from autozone, kragens, and those similar stores. if you look at your pad and they are red. that means they are the cheap kinds. they are made of semi-metallic. what you need are OEM pads from the dealer that are organic. that way your breaks will not squeek. i had the exact same prblem as you.
I don't know anything about red pads. Any color can be cheap. The ones I use come in a red and white box that says TOYOTA on the side. If you order from someone like Carson or Champion they're not much more expensive and, if installed properly, don't ever squeal.

It depends on what you want. Basic OEM pads are good, and you know what you are getting. If you wanted better grip or better wear characteristics, there are a number of aftermarket manufacturers with good reputations. Lots of people like EBC Green Stuff pads, but I have no real experience with them and they are expensive. I've used Hawk and Axxis pads on my GS3 as well as other vehicles and they perform very well.
Squeaking doesn't usually have anything to do with the pad itself unless you are down to the wear indicators, and even then it is not the pad squeaking. If it is not the wear indicator squeaking, it is likely that the squeak is coming from contact between the caliper and the metal pad base. Our cars have shims to reduce this problem, and these shims should be lubricated with specific lubricant to prevent squealing (every auto parts store has the lube).
So, are you simply looking for a basic replacement, or are you interested in better performance from your brakes? How are your rotors? How many miles do they have on them? Are they warped at all? All good things to ask if you are going to replace the pads and have the calipers off already.

Unitimports.com. Check them out on Ebay. They have great cross-drilled and slotted rotors as well as great pads. I got all four silver anodized crossdrilled and slotted rotors for $150 shipped. The pads are Axxis Metal Master pads. No shake, no squeal, no regrets. Great price, great product. These guys are all I will use for my business from now on. Hope this helps. Look them up, you won't regret it.
