Default Tabor IA here..

White 92 SC400..paid 2500..rolling POS with a beautiful drivetrain. Bought it as an experiment, figured for 2500 I couldn't really lose too much..hah! Little did I know..NYC cars are beaten to crap right off the showroom floor!
So far I've had to do the usual..radio died, climate control died, all the gauge cluster lights died, and the seats are completely rubbish. All four tires were bald, and the left front is toed in like hell from a chuckhole that blew the center out of an ADR M-SPORT RIM and had my tire flying down the midtown tunnel in NYC..
I did get all four oem 16" corroded wheels though, and on the trip home, I went thru THREE tires..and only one of the stockers would hold air. Even the spare was bald.

Lovely eh?

I'm a 1988 Supercharged MR2 owner
I'm a 1990 Plymouth Laser auto n/a owner
I'm a 1997 GMC K3500 four door 4x4 dually longbed turbodiesel owner
I'm a 1992 Chevy Suburban K1500 owner (242K miles and never touched)
I'm a 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport owner
I'm a 1998 Dodge Caravan owner..
Plus I own a pair of 100cc pit bike (but way bigger) ricky racers
Plus I own a pair of 125cc pit bike choppers (way bigger too,
A 13 year old fits perfectly on them (like 5'5 or so)
A full size adult can ride the choppers comfortably on a smooth road
Dunno how those hardcore hog riders could do a solid no shock rear end tho.
Last but least, I'm a 1992 Lexus SC400 owner
So I have a bit of a stable right now. I'm 45 and a firm adherent to the fact that the guy with the most **** when he dies is the winner..
Plus I have to retire from the USAF this summer/fall after 24 years.
Anyone need a good network admin or system geek? I also build 4G63 Mitsu turbo motors and race my all wheel drive turbo cars and the MR2 at mid america. The track has a 2.5 mile road course and an 1/8 mile track that is supposed to be extended to a quarter mile soon.
From what I have heard the track can be rented or we might be able to piggyback onto a mustang club event to get some road course time. Since our cars are pathetic in the 1/4 mile anyway without Ryan's twin turbo setup. we might as well see if we can hang with the stangs on the twisties. Mine has GR2 struts and Eibach lowering springs and rides like a truck..so maybe it will be good for something!

Also trying to find the BALL JOINT that will fit the Front lower control arms. If I can find the joint, I'm gonna start a business on the side changing them and installing the diazen bushings..

Nice to meet all you fellow Iowans..

An RX on a road course? That would be good for a giggle or three...

Eastern Iowa here, Davenport to be exact. Wife and i just traded in our 96 ES300 for our 05 GX about 4 days ago. I'll try and get some pics up later on. Nice to see an Iowa thread. I'm still wandering around the CL website.

Dave,
Maj Steve (GaDawg) here....Congrats on the retirement!
And BTW, you're winning big so far...Man that's SOME stable you have there!!! You obviously were able to homestead for a while to be able to collect that many rides.
I'm an Air Force Major stationed at Rock Island Arsenal (Army's Joint Munitions Command). I'm an Aircraft & Munitions Officer by trade, but sitting in the Liaison position here. So were you a Vehcile Mx AFSC?

Looks like quite a few Iowans on here already.

Why drive to Chicago for a meet? Way too long a drive and all of the bugs that will be splattered on the front end.

Why not get together somewhere centrally located? I'm thinking more guys/gals will be willing if they do not have to drive more than 2 1/2 hours.
