just saw on the news tonight a corvette crashed into a wall and the driver sustained a head injury?

 

Yeah, when I got there it was closed due to 'technical issues'...

 

Apparently 18 year old kid in a Z06, no helmet and didn't stop when he passed the traps Hope he recovers....

I was there waiting for the car inspection, bad accident, the guy had to air transported to the hospital. They shut down the racetrack and there were about 60+ cars waiting to race. Night was perfect, a lot of fast cars, too bad I couldn't do a single pass, especially driving all the way from Miami!!!

 

What time did you leave? I didn't see any -F's exit. You must have left just before I got there (8?)

Are you going back out again?

Not a zr1, its an 06 regular c6.
It was his first time down the track, he didn't know what to do or where the finish line was. He went off the end of the track, but he didn't accelerate the whole time, he didn't know where the turn was.

He is in the hospital. He had surgury to relieve pressure on his brain from what I gathered from people who have seen him there, he SHOULD be fine, he is embarrassed because he knows he messed up and its his fault.

I left 15 min. after they announced that there would be no more runs, probably close to 8PM. I was thinking about going back today, but with 60% chances of rain over there I''d better stay in Miami. If weather is nice and cold I'll try it again next wednesday.

 

Yeah, i'm not-too-happy about the rain forecast and the warmth today either.

 

Assuming I can get out of work soon I will be going home, slapping on my DR's, and heading out to PBIR to tear up my car... Anyone else going?
