Tesla Cybertruck
Not sure if anyone here has a subscription to Car and Driver, but my son does and the latest issue arrived a couple of days ago with the CT being on the cover. I read it last night and was surprised at their incredibly positive coverage on the CT. I'm not an engineer or technical guy, especially when it comes to truly understanding cars, but the CT seems like a pretty fascinating case study on some new engineering achievements. The drive by wire concept and the concept of the "etherloop" is really interesting to me. With etherloop, "The truck can lose any component on its network and reroute communication to keep all other systems online". The author talks about how after just a short time in the CT and getting used to the drive by wire, getting back into his current car felt weird and non intuitive.
i believe that... the CT is AMAZING technically, and way under appreciated so far. the steering and drivetrain are way beyond anything else.
i don't see other trucks with air suspension, 4 wheel steering, steer by wire, incredible silent power, etc.

Tesla is adding all those missing offroad options to CT, Topgear has a test:

@AJT123 's GX or LX can still traverse rocks better though 😉

What CTs don’t do is market then as rock crawlers. 0-60 in 3 seconds is the stuff they’re bragging about. They’re cool looking Teslas, that was the goal. This goal for it is not to hang out in the toughest parts of the world and never break like Lexus trucks.
I’ll extend the invitation again, anyone who wants to meet me at Windrock, come on! I’ll leave my street tires on like I said.
Both of them can.

With the recent software update, it's clear the lack of "off roading chops" has been addressed, however you're still saying the truck can't be taken off road , and that it's just a 0 to 60 truck. You're basically just moving the goal posts now.
I was just joking as you have repeatedly pointed out how incapable the CT is off road.

Compare the key off-road specs on the Cybertruck to the LX. Underestimate the Cybertruck at your peril. The problem early on was the release was a bit botched, and that’s getting fixed. You can’t look at this as was, you have to look as is. The “as is” is with the fixes.

Now it works better than in my 21 M3P with ultrasonic sensors.
and yeah, it would be better if it all got done at start but calculate you need around 6 months to get all the functionality from the date first comes out. Thats how Tesla does it, for better or worse.
Owner had to get stitches because his foot was too close to the edge of the door when closing.... yikes!
