To me, PPF is a must on the Cybertruck. I was in SoCal last week, and saw 6 within a 3 hour span, and every single one of them had PPF. The coolest looking one was gloss black
Software update fixed it. Videos now show it not even "denting" a banana before the frunk reverses course and goes back up.
Yeah, that could have ended up problematic. To be fair, the video I saw where it sliced the carrot was a pre-production truck. It does have sharp edges though that no software update can fix, although PPF fixes some, like around the doors
There are videos posted as recently as yesterday showing trucks with the new update trapping fingers. It will get fixed, but it’s still a work in progress.

Oh yeah, there are already several around here that look just like that. I like it better.
I saw my first cybertruck yesterday, it was so ugly it was cool. I don’t think I would add PPF to it unless I wanted to change colors. I feel like the stainless look is unique. Since it isn’t painted what is the point of PPF on it anyway? Is there something I’m missing?

Other than finger prints ad-infinitum, and the reddish color from what appears to be "rust" on the surface from contaminants after letting it sit for a while, PPF is indeed pointless.

I can only answer you by telling you that PPF wrap is very popular in California, especially SoCal. How else can you show off your Pink, bright Orange, Vomit green or bright Yellow Tesla? Vinyl wrap is not only limited to Tesla's here BTW
