Tesla Model S Plaid
there are no model years for teslas.

and model years are stupid and arbitrary, mainly there to give dealers a way to flush out 'old' inventory and get a rush of leads for the shiny new thing.
the camry i had was a 2014.5 year model so that toyota could add a rear view camera so it's not unheard of.

i'm not sure how the front/rear lights are different?
and being pissed at tesla at some point is part of the special ownership experience.
i guess i don't really understand the ccs port change because i thought that was required already in europe, so have they not been selling the S there?

Automakers do all sort of things in the middle of the model year, it's just very uncommon. Some exterior changes off the top of my head:
1. The first batch of MKIV Jettas came to the U.S. with cable throttles. Later in the same model year they became electric
2. There's a 1998 and 1998.5 Audi A4. There were a raft of interior changes, but on the exterior there were less Audi logos and the tail lights were solid red. They made even more changes in the 1999 model year that even included new door handles.
3. 2003 M3's got LED taillights and some other minor visual changes midway through the year
The difference is it's the norm at Tesla.

did they add the ccs to the refresh ONLY for european deliveries from fremont?
They sold the Pre-refresh Model S with a Tesla connector and sold an adapter for CCS. This new Model S with CCS will be a first and since Model S is from Fremont only, maybe they will implement sooner than I thought. However, Model S for Europe will happen sometime in later half of 2022 so perhaps this new variant wont be seen until then?
What do you expect Tesla to do? Never update the car? Or when they do give everyone with the older version all the new stuff? Of should they tell everyone in advance so no one wants the current model.

also, why wouldn't they just offer the same new S with CCS and Tesla connectors all around the world? this would expand charging options for S in the u.s. too, unless the current s comes with a css adapter anyway?
not only that, tesla has done price REDUCTIONS (kinda done with those now though) right after selling vehicles at a higher price. they've also completely reconfigured offerings, meaning someone who only had options of A, B, C when they bought, if they'd waited they'd have options of B, C, D, E. etc.
it's just part of the gig... you have to be satisfied with what you're buying.
For as long as I have known, I know what to expect with legacy auto manufacturers. I am used to the dealer model as well as the way they legacy makers present their product. This is Tesla, they do things differently.
thanks, i thought they're implementing it now ?? maybe the issue for europe is other factors like the stupid yoke being a headache with regulators?
