Its to lower the front of the car so when the car shifts its weight from front to rear as it accelerates initially, there is slightly more traction to get better times. The Plaid model is severely under tired for a drag launch. Its literally traction limited under 70mph and the tires are slipping like crazy because the power to the wheels overpowers the traction of the tires. Its using street tires vs. a more dedicated track tire. when people start putting better tires on the car, I wouldn't be surprised if it broke into the high 8s range...but then it wouldn't be considered "stock"

Tesla solved the power curve dropoff (how I don't know exactly) without needing a 2-speed gearbox. Love em or hate em EVs are going to utterly dominate performance cars going forward a gas engine has zero hope of competing with this. Power ramps up and stays there.

They eliminated the back EMF issue with the new motor and inverter design. In fact, even the new LR Model S has better 60-130mph times than the prior Model S Performance figures. Tesla proved once again that its motor design is years ahead of the competition.

Is the LR S also using the carbon sleeved motor?

No. The back EMF was mostly solved with the new inverter design. The carbon sleeve really only helps when it gets to much higher speeds above 130mph. I bet an acceleration boost option will be added to the LR in the future so that it helps get back to Model S performance levels. People feel the fist 60mph is really held back by software.

Default Marques Brownlee has just reviewed his personal Tesla Model S Plaid - Fair/balanced

Very fair and balanced review by Marques Brownlee on his personalTesla Model S Plaid. He's an interface guy, so it's interesting to watch his review of the refreshed S

He actually didn't mind the yoke, it's the replacement of stalks with the haptic touch buttons that he said is a bad design move.

I like his reviews.

I really dislike that Tesla took away the height adjustment for the seat belts. And no door lights like the pre refresh has. I guess he wouldn’t have noticed.

He likes the yolk doesn't like the turn signals and horn. Fair points. Not a full review though says that will come later.

i disagree he "doesn't mind the yoke" and definitely disagree he 'likes the yolk".

whether tesla gave him a break on the car i don't know, but given his massive youtube presence, $150 large with tax etc won't matter to him much. the video is aleady up to 2M views so the car's getting quickly pad for.

At 12:30 to 12:35 he specifically states the yolk isn't bad.

I don't follow what this has to do with the review.......please elaborate.
