short answer -- no. i bet you lose control in a mustag much easier than on a tesla. i have played with quite a few supposedly fast sports cars in my model 3, i don't consider myself a pro driver and if anything, i complain about the brakes which is pretty bad for stopping such a heavy car. otherwise the handling feels very neutral

I am not sure about you. But when I think of handling, braking has to be part of equation or discussion. So when a 5000lb Plaid despite being faster in a straight line compared to a 911, the S will likely lose out once the curves and twists present themselves.

Model S is a 4 door family sedan it is not supposed to be competing with dedicated sports cars. Roadster 2 is what we will be comparing to the Porsche's etc.

Its great for a large family sedan. It won't have the sublime dynamics of a 911 for sure. I don't think anyone would argue that. The brakes can easily be upgraded though which would really help with track driving but 99% of the people buying this will use it for drag or stoplight races. Also, the 911 fanatic won't ever consider this as an option...completely different market segments.

a mustang wouldn't be going anywhere near that fast up pike's peak. did he look in control to you on a lot of that drive?!

and he's already crashed a tesla on that run before...

you have no idea what kind of guy i am. the porsche taycan has few buttons but in my view BLOWS AWAY any tesla interior.

That no doubt blows away a Tesla S interior. (I really hate the clock up top tho)

It’s totally fair game. You often compare a Tesla to practically anything.

I think that's actually a timer?

I'm not a huge Porsche guy (or sports car guy) but I certainly respect the beast.

Taycan interior is ridiculous, blows Tesla away so badly it's barely worth mentioning.

I dunno. I think it looks bad. But I also consider that the dial is part of heritage or something like that.

In fairness, it’s also 50k more expensive, and it’s considerably slower than the Plaid.

The Taycan did have an advantage over the prior top spec Model S in that it could launch repeatedly and still turn in great times whereas the prior Model S would start to suffer performance degradation, but that advantage seems to have gone too as Plaid has some upgrades in that department too.

The recent tests shows the Plaid can deliver the 0-100-0 faster than a McLaren Senna.

It is seriously fast. Quite stupendously so.
