1200hp Zupra gets beat even when the Plaid has no drag strip mode enabled and gets off to a bad start. Plus the Zurpa has racing slicks. This car is almost too good to be true.

The Supra is RWD, slicks or not you're not putting full 1200hp onto the pavement.

Then maybe this thread is not for you since it is about the fastest production car you can buy.

we're allowed to make comments, even in threads we're not as jazzed about the subject as fanboys.

the tesla s plaid is an amazing engineering feat. i've said that several times i believe. but, and this isn't about tesla, when does speed become, to quote tesla, "ludicrous".

if someone gave me a tesla s plaid, i would sell it, perhaps get a 'slower' ev, and keep the difference. i'm just not in that much of a hurry, plus i think that speed capability is basically reckless and dangerous on public roads. my LC may be porky pig slow compared to a plaid, but it's plenty fast enough for me. i will own an ev in the next few years, and it will probably be the fastest car i've ever owned/leased.

cheap shot. i'm just not about endangering my life and others on the road.

I'm just poking fun. I don't actually think your LC is slow.

LC has a curb to weight ration of 9.08 Plaid 4.55, combine that with the completely flat power band of the Plaid and the LC is snail in comparison. As you know it's not just about pure speeds it's power at any speed instantly.

Put another way the LC would be a way better car as an EV IMO and 5x more efficient. But at least the LC is not a hydrogen car, unless you like extremely slow vehicles. LC500 is a beautiful car but end of an era. I'd love to see a poll, LC500 or Plaid for free which would you take. Future vs. the past, not saying the past is bad I live in the past in certain ways.

Amazing when a car that goes 0-60 in 4.4 seconds in now considered "slow". lol

Not sure what a 'curb to weight ration' is.

Maybe i'll get a bumper sticker "sorry my car is so slow"

Not sure how you quantify "5x more efficient" but making an LC500 electric would require making a new car... there's nowhere to put an adequate battery.

LC500 is a beautiful car but end of an era.
agreed. I'm usually a look forward kind of person but i got the LC because yes, it won't be sold much longer i don't think. It definitely feels mechanical (in a good way), the quality is impeccable. And yes, it's beautiful.

Obviously they're entirely different vehicles. For many buyers, there's more that appeals than a large sedan with blazing acceleration.

Drag Times was able to get 0-60 at 1.99s (with rollout) on surface streets! The best part of Plaid model isn't even the 0-60. The 60-130mph (the prior weakness of most EVs) is absolutely bonkers. The car will roast supercars on the highway with ease.

Do they perform like this when the battery is full, or even when the battery is partically depleted? Say you have 30% of range left, is it still going to accelerate like that?
