I remember my friend taking pics of my car in the body shop as well as a friends Y that suffered the same fate as yours except he was backing up his rear door caught his extra wide jeeps tire. When I saw progress pics all the panels were off the car and I asked him why it was that way and were there sensors or something? He told me with Teslas it is easier/quicker to take off all the body panels vs taping them all up. I wonder what Tesla’s body shop does.
As I understand, they removed the rear passenger panel completely. Since they only work on Tesla's, I'm assuming they do whatever is quicker and easier. I look forward to finally getting it back so I can go back to my Model 3 which my wife is enjoying. She's never really cared about cars, but she's commented many times already on how good it drives. Can't let her make that a habit
It's official. Model Y will be ready for pickup on Thursday. They will detail it the day before, which will be on Wednesday. The only hold up right now is waiting for final payment confirmation from Geico
