For me ES 350 Sport or non-sport you can't go wrong.

Es350 just because its more spacious compare to the IS. Also if its 2021 model than Es, the facelifted IS interior in my opinion looks bad. The exterior is nice besides that rear.

If you want more of a smaller sportier, nimble sedan I would recommend the IS. Much like the BMW 3 series. If you want a larger luxury sedan i would recommend the ES. Much like the BMW 5 series. The new IS style will be a 2021 model.

Asking an open-ended question like this in the ES forum will likely result in a disproportionately large number of "votes" for the ES. After all, this is an ES subforum. I'm sure the opposite would be true if you ask in the IS subforum. Perhaps a better question might be "why did we choose an ES rather than an IS?"

For me, it was about simple comfort over handling. I don't need rear wheel drive for my driving style, and I like the interior size of the ES, as well as the softer ride. After sitting in an IS in the showroom, I just never gave it much more attention. To be fair, I never actually drove one. My wife received an IS as a loaner when we were having our 2015 ES serviced and she disliked it very much after having spent a couple of years in our ES. I cannot recall her specific reasons, although I do remember she didn't like the big bump in the transmission hump that extended into the driver footwell (it was an AWD IS).

I appreciate the input. I've seen people say go for 10% off MSRP. Is this the goal out the door with tax included or just pre tax etc?

es350>is, if you are gonna get the IS just wait for the new generation 2021 to come out, but the interior of the IS is super outdated, you'll be much happier for the es350 infotainment, space, and updated interior.

if you are looking for space, it's the ES. If you are looking for performance, it's the IS. The IS is more nimble, gives you a very sporty ride but it's kind of tight inside and smaller. The ES offers more comfort, space and one of the better road isolation inside but it's a larger vehicle.

Let's throw in the GS in the mix:

I have both an ES and GS. The GS350 F is similar to the IS and it's bigger inside but not as nimble as the IS.

I would wait to look at the ES F-Sport Black Line when it arrives in a few weeks and then make a decision. But you'll have more space inside the newly redesigned ES regardless.

This late in the year you are better off waiting for the 2021 models, that being said my vote is for 2021 IS 350 AWD F-sport.

It all depends on your needs. The IS is a box and not much is updated from the previous model. plus it is cramped as all hell. The ES is more spacious and has a better look, inside and outside IMO.

If you can get a deal on a 2020 ES, go for it as nothing had changed, unless you get the Black Line and want a few suitcases and black wheels. Also, get an F-Sport if you want a sports look and if you feel old or are OLD AF, get a luxury line.

Definitely ES. I had an IS. I looked at the 3IS again in the dealer and it really is small... the interior space is similar to a civic. If you like that then great.

I absolutely love my ES and look for excuses to drive it. Just got it over the weekend.

I wouldn't call the ES more "manly" but I'd say it's definitely more grown up. And I love how high it rides (I come from lowered sports car). In fact I was thinking if I could even get a lift kit for it. LOL like nothing crazy a half inch or so. I wouldn't but I do like the idea.

You're in the ES forum so don't be surprised if it's biased toward ES heh. It depends on your needs and age. If you're in 30s to perhaps early 40s maybe a IS is better suited then after that it is time to move onto ES. I have ES300H for my daily and family function and have Miata for my fun car. If I have to get one in all vehicle IS is the one to get for multiple purpose . I have seen new IS350F in the flesh and it looks very sharp.
