Default 100K Mile Club – Lexus ES (7th Gen)

Gentlemen,

Welcome to the 100K Mile Club – Lexus ES (7th Gen)!

Drop your pics and share your experience with the ES.

Not the first to hit 100K, but I’ll kick this off, just crossed the milestone today with my 2019 ES.

Aside from the occasional jerky transmission (still annoying), it’s been a solid ride overall.

Not sure what’s next yet… but yeah, definitely not the 8th gen ES 😅

Happy to hear you've been trouble free with the wheels... I also have a '19 but with a lot fewer miles. Hopefully no future issues and won't be buying a '26...

Always interested in high mileage data
No dreaded timing chain cover leak?
What were your driving % in city/highway and the oil change interval time and mileage?
Any tranny service?
Thanks

Sweet, I'm in a club.
2019, mostly around town driving with several long-ish trips here and there. I've mostly kept to the service reminders for oil changes and such. Changed spark plugs a few months ago, will do both air filters as soon as this pollen dies down, and plan on a coolant swap soon. I don't remember how many miles were on when I bought it three years ago but I think brakes are also going to be replaced soon. They still stop okay but a growing shudder under heavy braking is present. No tranny service as of yet, and I don't know if I'm going to.
Aside from a few persistent interior ticks & creaks that appear and disappear like whack-a-mole, the gear shifting is the biggest thorn in my side. I've mostly grown to accept/ignore it... until I drive my wife's RX and that thing shifts just as smooth as can be! grrrr....

Overall, this car is really great for what it is; a very large soft & smushy Executive Sedan. That being said, after three years of use, I am now certain that it's not what I want, and I'm currently in discussions with my Supreme Commander (wife) to negotiate a trade in for the Lexus RC 350 F-Sport.

No dreaded timing chain cover leak? => Not YET, I guess
What were your driving % in city/highway and the oil change interval time and mileage? => First 3 years, 20/80 (city/highway), recent past 3 years 80/20. Overall I'd say 50/50. I change oil at roughly 7000 - 7500 miles or every 6 - 8 months, at Lexus.
Any tranny service? => Not yet but I want to do a tranny fluid drain and fill on my next oil change in June.

Additional services, all from Lexus dealer except OEM filters I put on myself: Changed brake fluid twice at 30K and 80K miles, change battery once at 75K/80K miles (about 5 years old), replaced all tires once at 60K miles - did wheel alignment with it as well, rotate tires every time I do oil change, balance tires every 2 oil change (Lexus charge ~$100 to balance vs $40 to rotate, while other tire shops doing these for free if you bought tire from them, what a rip off LOL), replace brake pads and resurfaced rotors once at 70K miles. Engine air filter every 12 months. Cabin air filter every 6 to 12 months whenever I feel like. Replaced Windshield once insurance paid for it because shipped by a rock on highway.

1 warranty service at 40K mile for this parking brake issue:

Thanks for the detail.
So you do your own oil and filter service at a good service interval. What oil brand and I assume 0w 20?
Since over 100k a bit with no previous drain and fill you might rethink the tranny drain and fill. Tech AMD of the CCN will not do if over 100k. I would think only 2-3 quarts out would not be that critical
With such great tire wear what brand and model were you using up to 60k, and what Brand and model did you replace them with?
Do you have any alignment before and after print outs, would like to see them if you have them?

All oil changes and other services done at Lexus , should be OEM 0W-20 oil, I'll check service documents to confirm and report back. The only thing I do myself was air filters and wiper blades replacement.

My service advisor already told me about the 100K tranny fluid before but I kept forgetting, I'll ask on the next visit see if they can do the exchange and refill, if no-go then so be it.

My OEM tire were Michelin Primacy MXM4 235/40R19, it lasts me almost 70K miles because I was doing 80% highway back then, I replaced them with the same tires with a small upgraded: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...l#post11476325

I think I did 2 alignments, one at 30K miles (30K service was the first major maintenance milestone I think, so I wanted to make sure to do it all because all the initial heavy wear and tear from engine, fluid etc. or any mistakes from the factory need to be correct moving forward - oil change, brake fluid, road test, chassis test, suspension test, tire and brake check, alignment check etc.), and last alignment done when I replacing the tires at 70K mile, will go back and find these documents and post pictures if alignment data, I keep them all on my glove box...

Oil was always 0W20. I did do 2 alignments at 30K miles and when replacing the tire at around 65K mile as said, but no data of before or after, the papers just said wheel alignment...

Thank you
On alignments if asked they will provide the B4 and After prints for your records . At least that is what the Hunter machines do. It's also to see what they adjusted that you paid for.
