Default 2021 Lexus es 350 USB hub

Hello there. I have a 21 es 350, I was wondering how hard the front usb hub is to replace. It seems like any little bump and if I move my phone it disconnects from the car and stops charging. What all would I need to remove to be able to replace it? Or should I take it to the dealer?

You need to remove the following:

1. Shift ****
2. Knee pads
3. Mark Levinson plastic
4. Pull up the center console starting around the square cup holder
5. Disconnect the wires

Remove the USB hub by unscrewing to Philips screws.

I did clean them with some alcohol and a brush and it didn't help much unfortunately

Sorry to be 'that guy', but have you tried a different charging cable? My guess would be the problem lies in the cable connection rather than inside the port, and I'd hate to see you go for the difficult fix before trying the easy ones.

Yes I have, no worries being that guy 😅 . It does the same thing with usb c and an iPhone cable as well. So I know it's something with the actual hub and not the cables

Maybe take a straight pin and see if can bend prongs back in shape. Before that use small piece of emery cloth to clean and or use contact cleaner first as that removes the residue better than alcohol and while still wet plug in and out several times. Should work.

Are both connections giving problems?...or only one? Might be a clue as to whether or not the issue is with the contacts.

It's both unfortunately. I did buy the car used and it was dirty on the inside with soad spilt around it. So maybe that's the issue?

Dang. I used to have instructions for opening up console on Gen 6 but dumped those when I went to Gen 7. Haven’t found any yet.
