Did your reasearch include taking an engine apart and checking for wear on cylinder walls and for blockages on oil rings?

A lot of sofa researches, most of you do not bother with UOA to confirm your OCI of 10k. It works for some, does not work for others. Keep guessing and reading stories. Here is one interesting video to watch

I go with the 10k for peace of mind but don't worry at all if that runs up to 12k before getting to it.

I worked with a guy who owned a transmission repair shop and a 1990's Toyota pickup. He bought a new engine mainly for the fun of doing a replacement and decided he was not going to replace the (dinosaur) oil again until the engine started showing signs of heavy wear. He went another 5 years and 60k miles on that oil and never noticed a difference. He sold the truck and still had the engine.

Go search the past BMW long oil change recommendations and look at some engine tear down images. It's called sludging.

People talk about oil changes and have no idea how the engine/oil works.
