Default 2019 remote start manufactured on 08/18

I just bought a 2019 ES 350 manufactured on 08/18 VIN that starts with 5.

Has about every possible option included the upgrade screen size.

Does the vehicle have remote start, the 3 lock clicks on the key fob does not start the vehicle.

Someone online says remote start only after the 10/18 manufactured date.

Is that true and if so, can the remote start be activated or do I have to purchase the add on for remote start.

from the dealer?

Link to the video that says Oct 2018 for the remote start.
around the 0:48 mark.

I also have a 2019 ES 350 made in Tennessee like yours. My RS is good for 10 years and is free. It's easy to screw up when trying to start with the fob using the 3 locks and hold. You should get a side mirror flash each time you press the lock button and on the third you hold until the mirror flashes continuously for about 3 seconds. If you are doing all this correctly, you may be right about the manufacture date as my car was built in October 2018... I would call the Lexus CS dept. and ask there. GOOD LUCK!

I'm not aware of the specific manufacturing date impacting the availability of remote start. This is the first I have heard of that. What I can tell you is that my 2019 does have remote start and it is part of the Lexus Enform suite, which is a standard feature for this generation, as it was with the previous generation. This requires a monthly subscription and the Lexus app to operate it. Once you have purchased the subscription, the three button-press feature with your key fob will work.

I would speak to a dealer about the specifics, but I believe you need to go to drivers.lexus.com and create an account, registering your VIN. Then you can purchase the remote option subscription at MyLexusEnform.com. The following site provides more specifics and certainly better answers than I can provide.

I do not have a monthly subscription and also have no account with Lexus for the RS feature on my car. I don't pay any monthly fee either... The fob RS is free but the smartphone RS requires an account Doug...

The 2019's have the Service Connect trial for 10 years which enables the fob Remote Start for 10 years also.
After a lot of fits and starts the various and confusing trial period lengths were standardized and now all 2018
and newer Lexi (except the 2018 GX) have the key fob RS enabled for 10 years because Service Connect is active.

The 2018 & 2019 smart phone App Remote Start had a 1 year trial but can be subscribed for $80/year.
Beginning in 2020 the App RS has a 3 year trial but can be subscribed for $160/year.

As mentioned, the key fob pressing cadence is pretty specific - press/release/press/release/press and hold until the lights flash independently.

Very specific and easy to fumble it before it finally works. But I use it religiously and no longer pay the subscription fee.

Another note worth posting is that most car salesman usually know less than you going in to buy a car. So it pays to get information from a reliable and knowledgeable source.
And sometimes even they don't know the correct answer...
